Marcus rejoined Greg and Monica to come and sample Liam's food, and the feedback came with some criticism, but generally provided the praise he needed. The panisse was proving stressful time-wise, as Liam wanted to let them cool for a bit longer before cooking them, but had to press on and managed to bring together a successful dish. Marcus, who was also judging his plate, praised his attitude.
"I want to put myself in situations like this where I'm a little bit uncomfortable." Whilst putting the dish together, he told Monica why he entered MasterChef, saying: "I want to push myself, test my mettle, not sit at home, rest on our laurels. On why he wanted to take part in the series whilst introducing himself, he said that despite the high standards and pressures of working at a top establishment it's what he has always wanted to do. The Cheshire-born chef currently works in a two Michelin star restaurant in Nottingham, and has been cooking for ten years with a passion for fine dining. Liam, 24, had to face the judges with a difficult dish which he needed to make in just 20 minutes, but coped with the task despite being unsure what he would have been making to start with.
